Skypecast #2

Here's the second recording of our design meeting. We reviewed the 4 interfaces that Qing has been working on. Then Jolin's Go Read interface. This sparked a conversation about the Text-Reading Connection, especially Text2Text. See Design Documents on the Project Site.

During the first 15 minutes there were many problems with the teleconference phone connection.

A GPSlog Walk in the Park

Click on the Title, and journey through Long Branch Nature Reserve using the 'Next' links. I'm guessing it's a little disorienting. Remember this content was created at the location it was collected.

Skypecast #1

Click on the Title "Skypecast #1", it's the link to the first GOInquire Skypecast. Where Brenda talked about the NSF yearly report, the upcoming AERA, publications, development, and setting up a formative evaluation at Patricia's school. For this user testing we might be interested in students playing with stamping, Google Earth, the bouncing ball activity, the metacognitive prompts, and the visual representations.

By the way I cheated in recording this. I placed a digital voice recorder up to the teleconference phone. Because of the USB interface, that allows us to use regular phones, we couldn't record right on the computer using Audacity. We tried the HotRecorder plug-in without success, too.

Regifting my Blog to the Team

Instead of creating a new blog, I just renamed an old blog I had set up. I'll try to delete the old posts, although some of them are related. You might be interested in a new feature, you can post directly from Email! To avoid splogging (spam-blogging) please email me directly and I'll give you the email address.
